Facebook surpasses a major milestone and releases a host of new video features

It’s been a big month for Facebook. The social network now has over 2 billion monthly active users around the world. Just like with Instagram live stream replay, the push towards a video-dominated future continues; Facebook has introduced a number of new video-related features.

The social giant has announced a new stand-alone video app. This is said to include a host of new tools to help creators enhance their videos and live broadcasts. In addition, extra video analytics to provide users with handy insights about their content.

Furthermore, Facebook Live is continuing to develop. For instance, it now boasts new features including live video recommendations, closed captions and new notification options. Moreover, Pages’ ability to add videos as cover images is now available to more users.

YouTube debuts several new updates at VidCon

YouTube announced some impressive stats at this year’s VidCon. For example, the video platform now boasts 1.5 billion logged-in monthly viewers. 

Furthermore, it reports that its viewers spend over an hour a day on average watching YouTube on mobile devices. Like Instagram live stream replay, this shows video really isn’t going anywhere!

In addition, the platform also unveiled a number of features. For example, these include a brand new 180° VR format and cameras that promise to make “VR more accessible and more affordable for viewers and creators.”

Furthermore, YouTube will update its mobile app with a new responsive design. This development will allow users to watch videos in various different sizes. Finally, YouTube TV will be expanding to more markets.

Snapchat rolls out Snap Map along with new advertising tools

Snapchat’s self-serve Ad Manager is now officially available, making it simpler for marketers to purchase video ads. Also, businesses can create and purchase on-demand geofilters using a new easy-to-use web tool.

Furthermore, the platform is continuing to build out its location and search capabilities. For instance, Snap Map allows users to share their current location and location-based content.

Vimeo releases new video interaction tools

Vimeo recently released three new video interaction features for their paying users. Updated end screens are now available to their Plus, PRO and Business members. In addition, Vimeo now includes mobile-friendly cards and email capture forms in their Business package.
